 INTRODUCTION OF DIT

Dehradun Institute of Technology, Dehra Dun was established in October 1998 and is the largest project of IMS Society, a non-profit making educational society registered under the Societies Registration Act of 1860 established in the year 1996 and is promoted by UNISON GROUP.

DIT is a leading technical institute offering Undergraduate programs and Postgraduate programs in several streams of Engineering, IT and Management. A campus with over 3000 students, coached by a highly distinguished faculty using state-of-the art teaching aids, excellent hostel facilities, and a vision that drives us to ensure holistic education to our students, is what sets us apart from the run-of-the-mill engineering institutes spread all over the country. From a humble beginning in 1998 to now over 7 B.Tech. programmes and 4 Masters' programs, faculty of Architecture and faculty of Pharmacy such high ideals have driven us at DIT and challenged us to 'seek excellence' and instill the same values in our students as well. 

 Location

 DIT is located at Dehra Dun, approximately 240 Kim. northwest of New Delhi. The campus is on Dehra Dun Mussoorie Road (northbound), approximately 10 Kim. from the hustle bustle of Dehra Dun and just about 20 Kim. short of Mussoorie. It can be conveniently reached by car or by public transport. There is a bus terminal for local buses and the ones headed for Mussoorie and the hills. The nearest Railway Station, the Dehra Dun Station, is less than 30 minutes away from the campus.

• Affiliated to UP Technical University, Lucknow and Uttaranchal Technical University, Dehra Dun. Ranked grade  ‘A’ by UP Technical University in terms of students’ academics results
• Approved by AICTE and recognized by Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India.
• The only Private institute in Uttaranchal accredited by National Broad of Accreditation, AICTE for B.Tech Program  in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics & Communication, Industrial and Production Engineering, Computer Science  and Engineering , Information Technology and Electrical Engineering

• TCS (Tata Consultancy Services) accredited institute.
• Obtained membership of CII, ASSOCHAM.
• DIT Library obtained membership of British Council Library and DEL NET.
• Director, DIT was selected as Chairman of a Committee constituted by Administrative Reform Commission of Uttarakhand in 2006 for a comprehensive study of polytechnic and ITI education in Uttarakhand State and make recommendations for reform.
